曼哈顿丽致婚纱(马来西亚店)Manhattan Bridal, Jalan Loke Yew - Part 1 ( Pre-wedding Photo Shoot)

Planning a wedding is no easy feat. After settling my ROM application, here comes another must-do task: Pre-wedding photo shoot. Manhattan Bridal gives me a very good head start in knowing it and then non-stop Google-ing about it from KL-PJ Wedding Expo, KLCC last year Jun 2013. That was my very first attendance of such wedding expo with my fiance. We visited during the last day of the expo and towards the last few hours before the expo ends. Hence, time was not allowing me to sit at all booths in the Expo. I walked in a few crowded booths, reflecting the shop popularity I guess, and Manhattan Bridal was one of my drop-by booth, luckily said. The staff who attended me was very amiable in person, chatty, experienced and professional. She was not an off-field part-timer who hired temporarily just to cope their potential guests like other bridal shops did. I was quite reassured and pleased with their personalized service. She explained comprehensively on the packages and showed some sample albums and gown displays. Pricing is reasonable, no haggling required - what you pay is what you get. Everything was written black and white on their brochures, no hidden charge, brides are well informed on the extra charges if the services needed by the customer. Hmmm, I was kinda love them in overall. I almost booked with her but because it was my first visit to the expo, I wanted to see more choices and offers. I wouldn't want to regret one day.

I feel a little guilty and sorry to the girl after her patient endeavor in explaining and not-pushy service in the expo since I promised to give her a confirmation on the next wedding expo which was on September 2013, but I failed to do so. The reason was it was slightly early to sign up a package where our wedding date was yet to be confirmed. By the time we really fancy a wedding package, Manhattan Bridal Shop came across our first thought. She left strong impression in us when deciding which to go. By going through their official website and Facebook, I realized many of our friends were joining them too. This convinced me further and yes, they are the one! At the end, I signed up with the package price RM3,980. (Pre-wedding photo shoot done locally). This price excludes the cost for ampoules used RM50/bttl (amount of bottle needed vary in person, MUA will advise) and bringing MUA for outdoor shooting RM500/day (if MUA followed outdoor session, she will change your style per gown). Of course these two services are optional. This bridal shop does not categorize their gowns according to grade and design, you can choose all and night view shooting with no extra charges. These two conditions are quite preceding to the other bridal shops.

Sharing with you my 'behind-the-scene' on my pre-wedding photo-shoot day.

My first 'elegante' look. Godlike hair braiding skill and natural make up by a Taiwanese MUA, a blissful start of my shooting. This romantic gown was chosen by fiance, he utterly loves it, loves his choice by looking at me attire on it.
*He was flaunting his great fashion sense around, I'm giggling*

A little splash of purple in maroon, perhaps? With the headpiece I was wearing, a bonus for me walking on the red carpet. Haha. Love Calvin's super dapper look. He looked lean and tall with his tight suit. I'm nuts about him.

My third colorful Bohemian look with flower headband on a simple huge wavy blond. I love myself in this the most. *Ogling*

My ravishing and grandiose long-tailed vintage wedding gown with a pair of bridal gloves.

An eye-popping funky style, with an extraordinary black asymmetrical back-front dress.
Let's date in a wild night!

These are the 'making-of' photos, by this very talented Taiwanese MUA, Ms Rita. Thanks to her Godlike skills and greatest passion in serving every couple the joyful way.
She is definitely a beautician, also a magician.

3 weeks later I will be going to pick those photos to make the album and put in a frame. Stay tuned if you interested to give them a look on my pre-wed photos. Love all. Hugs. Nights.

Registration of Marriage ROM @ Thean Hou Temple - PART 1 (Application Procedure)

Registration of marriage (ROM) is a very critical part of the whole marriage progress and it's compulsory for non-muslim Malaysian. Couple can be officially announced as husband wife after ROM even without trivial formalities according to our country act, but in contrary, two aren't certified as husband wife legally if ROM is not done.

Excitedly, I start my first blog by sharing my ROM application procedure with all the BTB (Bride-to-be) who wanted to complete your ROM at Thean Hou Temple 天后宫, Kuala Lumpur as me. Hope this will ravel or free some of your queries and doubt.

My simplified steps:

1. Prepare below documents:
 - Applicants' IC original and photocopy 1 pc
A4 sized, front and back on the same page
- Applicants' birth certificate photocopy 1 pc
A4 sized, do not cut
- Applicants' passport size photo 1 pc
Instant photos are unacceptable
- Photocopy 2 witnesses's IC, 1 copy each
A4 sized, front and back on the same page, witnesses do not need to be present on the application day

2. Pay a visit to Thean Hou Temple Marriage Registry 天后宫婚姻注册处
Adress: LG Floor (Canteen), 65 Persiaran Endah, Taman Persiaran Desa, 50460 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
    Official Website:
    www.hainannet.com.my Tel: 03-2273 7682 / 03-2273 9419
    (9am-5pm during working day)
For application: Mon - Sun (9am-5pm)
ROM Actual Day: Mon - Sun (9am-5pm)
Public Holiday, New Year Eve, Wesak & Christmas (9am-5pm)

3. Book your desire registration date with the staff in the temple marriage registry. We paid a 'donation fee' RM80.00 for the ROM and got a wedding magazine and some brochures.

4. Visit to nearest National Registration Department (JPN) to fill out marriage application form, JPN-KC02. Sample Form click here

5. Proceed to Statutory declaration in JPN
After filling up, return the form to the front desk and then we were called for statutory declaration (angkat sumpah) in the JPN as well. I done my application in JPN Sri Rampai. I think nowadays every JPN itself provides commission for oath service and do not have to go to private one. This service only charged for RM4.00. Cheap right? And it's hassle free. All done in one stop.

6. JPN verification
This statutory declaration actually was just a stamping and signature on the application form. They returned the form to us and we passed it back to the same front desk and were given a number to wait for last JPN verification which cost us RM20.00. This step is also a stamping procedure on our form if couple decided to
apply to the the application for solemnisation and registration of marriage in churches, temples and associations.

7.
Submission
Once done, remember to get back your form and submit it to
Thean Hou Temple Marriage Registry 天后宫婚姻注册处. It doesn't have to be on the same day but at least 10 days before your ROM date.

Yeay! Application DONE! Now patiently waiting for my ROM day to arrive which is on 20 Sep 2014. Stay tuned for the PART 2 which is my actual ROM oh~~~

Wedding Preparations

Guest Book Corner - DIY Project

7 months to go before my wedding actual day. Friends and families around me who had gone through this process in their life advised that wedding preparation should be commenced earlier but not very last minute. I've been put in mind that numerous unexpected trivia would drive the bride and groom-to-be to the wall when approaching the big day. As not to be set from these problem, I decided to prepare things as many as I can at this point.

Wedding dinner venue was reserved a year ago. Yes, early booking is the most secure way to get the venue or wedding hall you desired. Once we have been confirmed with the availability on our wedding date, another question came across my mind, ''Should I decorate the wedding reception?'' Every bride desires a fairy tale wedding. So do I. However, I choose a cheap but creative way to make my wedding reception looks presentable at the same time to ensure my guests have an unforgettable and wonderful night.

Spontaneously, images and pictures of the day start plotting in my mind. After a long period of online researching, getting ideas, references and pictures, finally I have a draft for this DIY project!

Here is the kick off of my DIY project- GUEST BOOK CORNER!!!

Bouquets with artificial flowers are the indispensability elements in any wedding decorations. Since I am not good in Ikebana a.k.a flower arrangement, I have chosen several ready made bouquet with different floral designs and size.

I personally favor this pink artificial daisy. It gives me garden feel and freshness.

The third bouquet I choose is the romantic white roses with entangled branches.

Would like to share the extra photos beside the photo album? This craft called DIY cardboard photoframe helps alot! Even as a decorating element in guestbook corner.

An universal white cany tray a nicer way of storage for your thank you cards, wedding favors, stationaries and etc.

Personalized the cany basket to suit your own desire. Wrap it with color ribbons or lining the linen at inner part, an good idea to be used during betrothal to fill in the wedding necessities.

Photo frames too. I like pink! Pink and white is always a girlish color combination that creates sweetness in any moment.

These stamps are my own collection which I purchased in Taiwan last December. Unexpectedly, they are playing an important role in this guest book corner. Our guests can just leave us a note by easy stamping and decorate by using these.

I am going to use these stuffs to set up my adorable guest book corner in my wedding dinner.

P/S: Warm reminder to readers, or bride-to-be who are going to DIY own wedding like me, make sure most of the items used for the entire wedding decorations would not be stored and kept under bed after the occasion. Make sure each stuffs purchased will not losing their value after the wedding, try to display them at home as part of living decorations.

Taa-daa! Here is my wedding reception guest registration corner! Thanks to my photographer in taking these shots of my D.I.Y corner. A lot of guests have been asking which organizer I hired to decorate this, I pointed my nose. LOL
